Call for Submissions: Guest Ex-Editor

SUBMISSIONS CALL!

Ex-Editor wants to hear from YOU!

“I wanna hear from folks who used to make zines on the regular but have been on a long break…

Guest Ex-Editor is a compilation zine which invites contributions from ex-zine editors. The concept is to bring various zine scene alumni out of retirement for one or two pages.

You might use your page(s) to revisit memories of your old zine, re-evaluate it, resurrect it (maybe with a modern twist to reflect where life has taken you since?), or pilot a brand-new zine idea.

If you’ve been following my Confessions of an Ex-Zine Editor series, you can consider Guest Ex-Editor a feature length version of the Guest Confessional pages.

Message me if you’re interested in taking part and I can send you the full prompts list & submission info.

Please share widely / tag an out-of-practice zine editor!”

Subs open from 1st February to 29 February for:
– Activities
– Comics
– Fiction / Non-Fiction
– Illustration
– Poetry

Guidelines:
– Applicants MUST be neurodivergent (diagnosis NOT needed)
– Theme: “PRIDE” (open to interpretation – but this is a Pride Month special!)
– Applicants can be any age & from anywhere
– Submissions MUST be suitable for children aged 8+

Mythical Type is collecting submissions for a zine about immigrant experiences called “Children of immigrants”. Submissions are open to anyone who grew up in an immigrant household.

Submissions Deadline: February 10th 2024

“Children of immigrants” is a compilation zine about immigrant experiences. Submissions are open to anyone who grew up in an immigrant household. (That is, you grew up in a different country from where your parents or grandparents are from.)

This is a half-page zine (5.5 inches wide by 8.5 inches tall), printed in full-color.

You do not have to have any experience making zines to submit content! All experience levels are welcome.
