Hello, dear zine friends! It is another day in ZineWriMo with another prompt to help inspire your creativity.
Try It Out – Blackout Poetry
If you’re not familiar with blackout poetry, it’s a pretty uncomplicated one. How to Blackout Poetry not only tells you but also shows you how it works. Or you can look below…
I opened my copy of The Heroine’s Journey by Gail Carriger to a random page and ended up with this one. I like sitting down for blackout poetry because it feels (to me) a bit intimidating at first until I start carving away the words. A new piece-within-the-piece begins to form, and a story I didn’t know was there takes shape. This one went in a bit of a darker direction than I first anticipated, but I felt like the words guided me rather than the other way around.
I hope you all have had a lot of fun with this prompt and discovered all sorts of fun things.
