Zine PDFs!

Zine PDF

Do you know what this is? This is the culmination of SO MUCH (yup, bold and all caps kind of ‘so much’) scanning, converting files, adjusting files, compiling files, and exporting files.

Dear Anonymous I, II, III, Don’t Call Me Cupcake, and Don’t Call Me Cupcake 2 will all soon be available in PDF form on Etsy!

I know that this can be a sticky subject for some people, given the heart and soul of zine culture is cut and paste. Physical form.

But the fact remains that I live in Australia, and a heck of a lot of people don’t. A lot of those people who don’t live in Australia can’t afford the postage involved in getting my zines on a plane and into their hands.

I want those people to still be able to check out my zines. So the cheaper option is a PDF.

I’m not quite done with everything, but I am close. I’ll announce when they’re listed at some point next week.

Woo!

  1. Good for you! 🙂 I have to admit that I’m definitely one of those people who’s not especially fond of digital formats of creative endeavors, but I definitely think you make a valid point about geographic location. I have a friend in Australia and if I so much as try to send something even slightly bigger or heavier than a greeting card, the postage is almost always more than the item(s) inside! Where I really don’t like digital, though, is when people use it for things like collage and ATCs – that’s a total pet peeve of mine, unless there’s an obviously labor intensive effort that translates.

  2. I have a friend in the States, and we exchange care packages once or twice a year. Neither of us can afford more than that. 😛 Postage is a real bugger, that’s for sure. There are a lot of things that I think simply don’t translate well into digital format. But to each their own.
