International Zine Month 2018 – Day 4 – AmeriZine Day!

Happy Fourth of July, American friends! I hope you have an absolutely lovely day full of glorious fireworks. (Well, the night filled with fireworks, anyway. Hehe.)

It’s time to get our IZM on!

Today’s prompt is:

AmeriZine Day! Explore marginalised voices in America. Buy, share, and read zines about racial justice and zines written by people of colour.

There are two zines that popped into my mind when I read this prompt. One I read quite a while ago, and one I’ve read recently. Today it’s my pleasure to share:

Queer Indigenous Girl

Queer Indigenous Girl is a full-colour perzine that covers topics like introductions, O’Otham culture, reading recommendations, and Se’mana’s experiences living with ADHD.

Full review here.

This Asian American Life

This Asian American Life is a ½ fold full colour comic about Katie’s life and being an Asian American.

Full review here.

That’s me for today. If you have any recommendations for zines by marginalised voices, please leave them in the comments below.
