Hello, hello, and hello once more, zine friends!

It’s been quite the silly pickle of a life here at the zine cave of late, that is for sure my dear friends. Then again, I’d rather have fun and give things a go than sit back and not over the mere possibility that I might fail. I mean, trying and failing is kind of what I do around here, but I have an absolute blast doing it. My only regret for this one is that I didn’t give you all the amazing zine reviews I wanted to.

But I can promise you one thing – there will be another month of zine reviews in the future.

This week has seen no mail but email variety come in, so there’s no happy mail video for this particular Monday. However, the day was beautiful and sunny, progress has been made on the aforementioned silly pickles, and there are silver linings to be found.

So here we are, friends. Another day, and a thought to share with you… It’s always hard to fail. It’s hard to lose track and get behind. But keep trying. Keep giving all you can. Because even failures and be beautiful and fun, and they make the successes all the more wonderful.

Okay, so it’s not a rain delay, but today was filled with a medical visit for Wanderer (he’s okay, thank goodness) and a bunch of errands. Happy Mail will happen tomorrow.

Hello, dear zine friends! I’m so happy to share some ‘reviewer gets reviewed’ goodness with you today. Hehe. Feral Publication has reviewed my monthly life newsletter type zine Missives From Murray Bridge as well as Paper Currency 1!

And they are in handy dandy video form for your viewing pleasure.

If you haven’t checked out the Feral Publication YouTube channel before, I highly recommend it. There are a heap of zine reviews, the Anarchist Zinester Vlog series, travel vlogs, and even short films!

Oh, dear dear dear.

That didn’t go very well.

First off, I’d like to say a huge thank you to Amber is Blue and Apples for guest reviewing during a very difficult time for me. I appreciate it more than words can say.

I decided 2019 wouldn’t be the year that I’d start doing a prompts list for Mini-Zine March thanks to there being so much going on already. I’ve already talked about how things went wrong last month, so I won’t go over it again, but I didn’t get to do anywhere near all the things I wanted to do for the month.

Alas, that’s just the way it works sometimes.

The beat goes on, dear zine friends, and what doesn’t happen in March can happen in April or May. 🙂 I still have a lot of plans, and I’m excited to be able to share them with you soon.

I hope you all had a wonderful month and will have a wonderful month ahead. No Happy Mail came this week, so until next time…

I’m beginning to think 2019 really doesn’t like me.

At about 4pm last night, I started having trouble with this site. By 8pm, I gave up on it coming back up in any sort of decent time

The good news(?) is that it wasn’t the SGZ site itself. There was nothing here that broke nor anything I specifically had to fix. The hosting site itself went down. While that’s not great to have your site host go down, I’m just happy to not have to wade my way through code this morning.

Anyway, knock on wood, I will be back this afternoon with a lovely new zine review. <3

Oh dear.

Oh dear, dear, dear.

This has not been the ideal first part of Mini-Zine March.

Hello, wonderful zine friends. After two weeks with no Happy Mail Monday, few posts, and not much else, you’re probably wondering what’s happening. (If you don’t follow me on other social media, anyway.)

Here’s a little explainer:

On March 4th, I had a day procedure at the hospital. I’ve had this procedure before, so I expected a day or two of rest to recover, and then things would be right back to normal. Unfortunately, this time has been complicated, creating a need for a lot of rest. (I think I’ve been sleeping more than I’ve been awake this month.)

The good news is that I’m really lucky to have great doctors in my life who really listen to me, so I am recovering. It’s just taken a lot longer than expected.

The other good news is that things should be back to normal now as far as posting goes. One good thing about being stuck in a chair for most of the day is that, when I am awake, I have zines to read and review. 🙂

So here’s to health and getting Mini-Zine March going properly!
