Call for Submissions: Changeling Mini Mag

Changeling Mini Mag are seeking submissions of poetry, fiction, non-fiction, illustration (stand-alone pieces and comics) and activities/puzzles suitable for children for their next four issues, on the themes of “WILD”, “MAGIC”, “THRIVE”, and MONSTER”.

Changeling Mini Mag is a magazine for children ages 8+. It features art, writing and activities produced entirely by (mostly!) grown-up neurodivergent creatives.

WHAT TO SUBMIT

–          Writing (poetry, fiction, non-fiction): 1-3 pieces, up to 800 words each.
–          Stand-alone illustration and activities: 1-3 pieces.
–          Comics: 1-3 pieces, up to 5 pages each.

HOW TO SUBMIT

–          Your submission as an attachment.
–          Your name, age, pronouns, and a bit about yourself (if you want!)

Call for Submissions: Headstone Zine

Deadline: June 1st

A headstone is a marker for those who have passed: it can be a representation of one’s identity or legacy, a last word, a sense of closure, a transformation, or a reminder from the past carried into the future. Who or what do you want to memorialize?

We welcome work about any of these themes (literally or figuratively):

  • Memorials, remembrances, obituaries, eulogies, epitaphs, vigils, wakes
  • Cemeteries, columbaria, catacombs, and other visual culture
  • Grief, loss, bereavement, anticipatory grief, not grieving
  • Mythology, cultural practices, the afterlife, transitory states
  • Thanatology
  • An ending to a story
  • Other related themes and connections

Headstone is open to submissions and accepts both written work and visual art.

Submissions are open here for vol. 1 until Friday May 30, 2025. (link: Google Forms)

Black Canvases (ISSN: 3066-8484) is a new Black cultural zine created by The Creative CoLab for artists, writers, scholar-practitioners, graduate students, and community leaders to share content related to Black fashion, culture, data science, digital humanities, digital projects, archival work, art, and BGLAM (Black Galleries Libraries Archives and Museums).

Northern Beaches Library’s Zine Fair 2025

You are invited to the Northern Beaches Library’s 2025 Zine Fair at Manly!

We are reaching out to potential artists who we hope are interested in joining us as a stallholder for this popular event.  

Expression of interest form.

When is the Zine Fair?

The fair will run from 10am – 2pm on Saturday 26th of July, 2025.

Where is the Zine Fair?

This year the Zine Fair will be hosted by Manly Library.

We will be setting up the tables inside the library on the ground floor, with all stallholders having a half table.

This year we will be trying to put all stallholders inside the main library rather than the community room off the foyer.

Address:

1 Market Lane, Manly, NSW 2095.

Getting here:

There is a few options to get to Manly Library.

  • A ferry from Circular Quay
  • A bus from the surround of Sydney
  • Or parking is available in the Whistler St carpark next to the Library. All day parking for a set cost can be organised with us before the date.

Becoming a stallholder:

If you are interested in being a stallholder please fill in this expression of interest form.

Places are limited so please let us know if you’re interested as soon as you can.

What is the Zine Fair?

The library will host artist stalls where zines can be displayed, given away or sold.

Applying for and reserving a table is completely free, and artists retain 100% of any sales they make. The Zine Fair will also include live music, a craft corner for all ages and some workshops running throughout the event.
