Hello, dear and wonderful zine friends. I hope this post finds you and yours well.
Zinetober approaches! So I thought I would point out a couple of places for some zinespiration for you in the coming month. While the northern hemisphere gets all hot chocolate and pumpkin spice and the southern hemisphere gets the springtime sneezes, we can all dive into some zine-making goodness.
If your October is busy or your schedule up in the air, you can check out this post from Hadass: https://hadass420.wordpress.com/2023/09/18/have-fun-no-stress-just-zines/
She writes about accepting the month the way it is and adjusting accordingly. I am wholeheartedly against inviting too much stress into your life, especially in the form of zine and zine-related activities. Life is a funny critter, and we need to adjust. I like Hadass’ unapologetic approach to mixing things up to suit her needs.
If you would prefer a bit more structure to your Zinetober, there’s also a list of prompts courtesy of Julia of https://www.instagram.com/munichzinelibrary/. This year’s list is a bit more ‘spread out’ in terms of prompts, which is always appreciated. That said, if you’d like an even more structured approach, you could always check out Julia’s Instagram and grab a daily prompts list from previous years.
And that’s all I have for the moment, zine friends. If you know of any other Zinetober events, be they prompts lists, fests, or otherwise, be sure to put them in comments or feel free to tag me on Instagram if you’re posting there.
Until next time, zine friends!
Yay! Thanks for sharing <3
hello, i’m a bit late to zinetober but i’m excited to start, what does ‘perzine’ mean?
Hello! No worries about being late! Just have fun with it. ^_^ Perzine is short for ‘personal zine’. Zines that are more like diaries, journals, and life experience type topics.
